She questions forever
Realizing it may never be (realizing it never may be)
Exactly as she planned
Even if there was a looking glass she couldn’t have seen this coming
Heart broken so early in the game
She now fights back against love
Letting nothing in
Like some cartoon crime fighter against commitment and feelings
Cuz they were always the things held back from her
See she saw it as control
If she had the power not to let them in
To her heart
She couldn’t get hurt again
She wouldn’t have to worry about her broken ideas of forever
Or ever again spend time picking up the shattered pieces of her fairytales
Continually cutting her hands
cuz secretly
she still trys to hold on
Stuffing the broken shards into her coat
And pants pockets
While hiding her bloody hands
Still embedded with the glass pieces of hope and faith
Ashamed
That through it all
She’s still that dumb
She gets up…
Clenching faith and hope in hand
And steps forward into forever
Realizing it may never be exactly as she planned…
But she finds herself there again
Right back where she started
Pretending as if it never happened
Re grouped and Re focused
Up goes her shield again
As she crosses the battle line
Hoping to get further then last time
But carefully preparing herself
For another down fall
This was her life
She was married to it
Though it seemed as if she was braving the darkest coldest winter
She had been there before
She knows that this was a cycle
In time spring would come again
The rebirth not quite a new beginning
Summer would incubate love on its hottest day
And autumn would follow where lovers tired and crippled
Like leaves fall from their highest perches
Giving into the wind as it hits
Like the blow of lost feelings
And eventually they’d land in winter again worse then they were b4
But she tells herself that it’s worth it
She lives for this
Rather can’t live without it
Because she knows that if you at least try
There will always be a possibility of where she wants to be
So she steps forward into forever
Still holding the bloody remains of her fairy tale
Trying to forget that it may never be exactly as she planned
